Having waited seven and a half months and wondering whether we’d be able to get to Adelaide for the birth of our first grandchild, we are now waiting at Auckland airport to board our flight to Sydney, then on to Adelaide in the morning.
We know how fortunate we have been to get here. I spent some of our last months in London knitting a blanket for the much-awaited wee man. I posted it to Campbell and Alexandra, thinking at that time, we wouldn’t be allowed into Australia. Alex has it packed in her hospital bag, ready to wrap him in our love when she brings him home.
Now, we will be able to do that in person. Sooo excited!
